Matthew 24 - Part 20
In our investigation of Matthew 24, we are down to the latter part of verse 13, which states: ...unto the end, the same shall be saved. I want to again emphasize what I said in our previous newsletter that God does all the work of salvation starting from ...the foundation of the world (Ephesians 2:1, 4-6) because ...he which hath began a good work in you will perform it… (Philippians 1:6) all the way to the final stage of salvation when God will have blessed each of God’s elect with a glorified spiritual body (1 Corinthians 15:53-54) to love and serve Him for evermore as part of the Bride of Christ. (Psalm 73:25)
Unto [eis:G1519] The End [telos:G5056]
The two terms, unto and the end appear together in 16 other passages including verse 14 of this chapter, as for and end: And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for [eis:G1519] a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end [telos:G5056] come. John 13:1 is a significant verse as it looks back to ...the foundation of the world when Christ’s love for His elect secured their very salvation, which was typified by the Feast of Passover in 33 AD. It was at that time when the feast was being celebrated that the Passover Lamb was hanging on the Cross demonstrating what He had accomplished at...the foundation of the world: Now before the feast of the passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto [eis:G1519] the end. [telos:G5056]
The Same [hoytos:G3778] Shall Be Saved [sozo:G4982]
These two expressions, the same and shall be saved surface in 8 other citations, and we will consider one of them in Luke 9:24 which illustrates a significant Biblical principle: For whosoever will save [sozo:G4982] his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same [sozo:G4982] shall save [sozo:G4982] it.
In our next newsletter, we will continue to investigate verse 14.
Prayer And Praise
Good Day Gunther,
This is Motlalepula writing from Lesotho in Southern Africa. I just write in to inform you that I grew up listening to your voice at Family Radio. Treasures from the Bible, Bible studies and Bible reading used to make me get glued to the radio the whole evening. I did not enjoy my teenage years so much in the world which I am thankfully for; I spend time listening to Mr Camping and your voice at Family Radio, so I was enjoying. Your voice was like music and I used to resound it my mother, mimicking you as I read the Bible. That was exiting and refreshing. It was from the 90's through my teenage years and up to to 2012.
I have recently also started to listen again and it is great blessing hearing your firm good voice again. The studies are a blessing. May God Almighty give you strength and wisdom as you continue to be a blessing in feeding of God's sheep in this day of judgement. We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers; Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father; Knowing, brethren beloved, your election of God. For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake. And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost: So that ye were ensamples to all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia. For from you sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith to God-ward is spread abroad; so that we need not to speak any thing. For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God; (1 Thessalonians 1:2-9)
I have also recently learned about the condition of Maria and I keep praying for her according to your request. May God show His mercy and sustain her. Also be comforted with your family. "...There shall be showers of blessing, this is. Promise of love, there shall be seasons refreshing...showers of blessings"Please also pray for me, that I spend more time in the Word of God with my family. My wife is growing in grace and beginning to learn from the Bible and asking many questions. Which I am addressing patiently as we read.
With love, Motlalepula Maxwell Moahloli
